DEMOCRACY DAY: Dr Pius Odubu call for Consensus Building Among Leaders.

A front line aspirant in Edo State gubernatorial contest, Dr Pius Odubu has called on Leaders across party lines to see democracy as a means for Consensus building in delivery its dividends to every man and woman in the Country.

In a message released today to mark this year celebration of Democracy Day as declared by Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, the formal Deputy Governor of Edo State said;

As we celebrate another Democracy Day, it  affords me another golden opportunity to re-emphasize the need for all of us leaders to build consensus and promote better understanding in our Country and State.

I have said this in time past and will continue to say it; that the times we are in call for fence-mending, bridge-building and repairing of bridges that appear to have been broken down.

That is the only way we can better. appreciate the progress we have made as a democracy and the only way we can sustain the democratic structures we have all labored to put in place.

On the coming election in the State slated for September this year, he has this to say;

As we prepare for the September 19th, governorship election,let me use this opportunity to equally sound a note of caution to some of our brothers and even leaders in Edo State who appear to be using the language of war, instead of the language of politics and persuasion which are critical to the peace, stability and progress that we are in dare need of, in our nation at this time.

He concluded by enjoining everyone to be steadfast and support our Leaders as we builds the democracy of our dreams.

As we celebrate another year of unbroken civilian rule, let us continue to work for the peace and unity of our nation and State.

Let us rally round and support Mr. President and all our leaders in their quest to build a new Nigeria of our collective dreams and aspirations.
