The All Progressive Congress APC wielded her big hammer on two notable party stalwarts yesterday when they announced the expulsion of members suspected to have engaged the party in Legal battles without exhausting internal options available for dispute resolution.
Announcing the expulsion, the Party’s National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomhole quoted the Party Constitution as follows:
See Article. 8(d)v
….Any member who files an action in court of law against the Party or any
of its officers on any matter or matters relating to the discharge f the
duties of the Party without first exhausting the avenues for redress
provided for in this Constitution shall automatically stand expelled from
the Party on filing such action and no appeal against expulsion as
stipulated in this Clause shall be entertained until the withdrawal of the action from Court by the Member.
We are hereby invoking this part of our Party’s Constitution on Hon Matthew Iduoreyekewe (Governorship aspirant) and Mr Kenneth Asekomhe who was the Deputy State Chairman North. The duo has cases against the party in Court.
Recall that Hon Matthew Iduoreyenkewe is one of the aspirants who went to Court in an attempt to stop the Party from conducting Direct Primaries in the State and also challenging the eligibility of one of the aspirant.
The recent event has further deflated Governor Godwin Obaseki’s hold in the Party having also being disqualified from contesting the said election due to discrepancies in his credentials and upheld by an Appeal Panel.
