The Commissioner for Health in Ondo state, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, has died.
Adegbenro died of COVID-19 at the state infectious disease hospital in Akure on Thursday July 2. He was 65 years old.
“Dr. Adegbenro has been at the forefront of government efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Ondo State. His demise collides violently with this patriotic assignment” Alex Kalejaye the Ondo APC Publicity Secretary had said.
This comes two days after the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, tested positive for Coronavirus. Governor Akeredolu in a statewide broadcast disclosed his COVID-19 status.
He said he is asymptomatic and has now gone into isolation.
